A Poignant Wish: Poem from A Guest Poet

A mother's Wish

A Mother’s Wish

(With literary allusion to a 1965 gospel song by Reverend James Cleveland “Give Me My Flowers”)

Visit me,

When I can see you.

Tell me wonderful things,

When I can hear you.

Send me flowers,

When I can smell them.

Tell me you love me,

When my heart can feel it.

And that will make all the difference,

To me.
