My
Sister, My Own
(A Tribute)
You were my
opposite mirror.
Twin to my other
side,
Same —
Yet Different.
Suddenly, there
you are,
As flits of
memories
Seep into my mind
While you stand
still.
Pat-a-cake Patty, you never were.
Renegade to my
girlie tom-boy,
Always
—
The other side of the moon.
Where I was weak,
you were strong.
Where I was lost,
you were brilliant.
While I struggled,
you made it look easy.
You calculated your path.
Fearless,
yet troubled!
Oh, how the lure
of yesterday
Sweeps by me now.
The long-ago echoes
of “Didee Ann,”
Whispered softly
is lost.
Timelessness is
yours.
Forever in my
heart, you remain,
My rebellious sister —
And very truly loved.
