'Weather you're chasing pleasure or running from pain, it's the pain that forces you to hope'.
I'm not sure where I heard this, but the quote stays with me, especially in times of uncertainty. The following was written on January 1, 2020. I wrote it for my mother who had a premonition that 2020 would not bode well. I re-post it here not because the words are prophetic, but because I still have hope.
"As the sun rises on the dawn of a brand new year I am struck by many thoughts. The most prominent one is of hope. Hope for the preservation of our nation. Hope in us turning more toward God for guidance. Hope that the decency man has for his fellow man will be abundant. Hope that our tomorrow's will be better than our yesterday's. Hope that we recognize our blessings and appreciate the beauty in all things. Hope that when called upon we will be at our best, especially in the face of adversity. Hope that the greatest gifts God gave us, a cognitive reasoning brain and free will, will be fully utilized to help us stand together for what is right and evenly measured. It is my hope that these mere wishes are attainable goals that will see us through to the next year and the years beyond. Happy New Year!"
Love to all.
