Evenings Closure

Evenings Closure

Sounds grow silent as evening draws near,

A calmness settles over my wanton fears.

I sigh to welcome the closing of day,

Whose beauty takes my breath away.

Red, Blue and gold line the evening sky

As darkness moves the sun to lie,

But steady to rise at birds sweet song,

Heralding another day to chase along.

Until then, my mind will take the time

To relish this soulful meandering rhyme

That stills me in the coolness of this night,

As weariness is tucked away from sight.

Sad are we to meet the end

Of daily grinds that wane again,

To blessed sighs and sweet relief

And early mornings rising...

...After resting at peace.
