Finding Truth

Truth

In keeping with February’s theme of TRUTH, I thought I would share this poem, written in free verse and from my book Looking In from Outside: Poetry & Prose, which speaks of finding that elusive thing called

truth in information.

Words Unsaid

Hey Ruth, what’s the truth? What’s wrong with the

world today? They say…we’ll pay.

I don’t know about you, but what’s

To do?

I’m trying to find the truth here.

To find the words they say,

And they don’t.

Hey Ruth, I’m scared. Will we see another light?

Can we find…another way?

I don’t know about you, but something

Ain’t right.

We have the RIGHT to know.

We have the RIGHT to fight.

We have the RIGHT to choose.

We even have the RIGHT to die!

BUT

I’m TRYING to find the TRUTH here.

To find the words they say…

And they don’t.

They just won’t.
