Road Trips. Aren’t they wonderful! I am anxious
and all too excited about the prospect of being on the road to visit family and
friends back home. I’ve decided to make this trip by car because I have a lot
of material to bring with me in the way of book paraphernalia. The obligatory
books, of course, along with posters, banners, giveaway items, you name it—I
have it.
The price of gas intimidates me. Traveling such a
long way in a vehicle is daunting, but I can do it. Weather, car troubles, safe
places to stop, bathroom breaks, oy vey! The pitfalls are plentiful.
The Brightside?
Enjoying the ride. Taking the journey across America. I can’t wait to feel the wind in my hair and enjoy the season that October brings. The colors, the cool air, and meeting new people along the way call to me. The sights and smells of being “out there” are exhilarating. And, of course, visiting people I haven’t seen in such a long time, especially family.
I immerse myself in the art of writing, so much so
that I miss enjoying life to the fullest. Sometimes, I feel cooped up inside.
There are days I feel the need to spread my wings to explore. This trip is a
chance to experience more things. I want to venture out and embrace that feeling of
freedom and catch that elusive moment of wonderment as it illuminates my sense
of being. And why not?
So, here goes….
