Wisdom. So much has been written and said about this elusive bit of understanding. What is it? Where does it come from and how does one obtain it? Wisdom is different from knowledge. The Bible holds a wealth of information about wisdom. There is even a series of wisdom books in The Bible, except for the King James version, devoted to the idea. One such book is actually called Wisdom. The book of Job gives an answer to 'wence' wisdom comes. Take a look.
Wence Comes Wisdom
Wence comes wisdom?
And where is the place
of understanding?
It is hid from the eyes
of all living,
And concealed from the
birds of the air.
Wence comes wisdom?
God understands the
ways to it,
And He knows its place.
For He looked to the ends
of the earth,
And sees everything
under the heavens.
Then He gave to the
wind its weight,
And meted out the
waters by measure.
Then He made a decree
of the rain,
And the way for the
lightning and the thunder.
Then He saw it and
declared it,
He established it and
searched it out,
Then He said to man:
Behold the fear of the
Lord!
That is wisdom and to
depart from evil,
Is understanding.
That
is wisdom.
