The Mighty Fall
Much of this, I
don’t understand.
Much of this is
out of hand.
Much is taken from our plan.
Mighty is fallen this one man.
Man is made of
flesh and bone,
Far from those he has left at home.
Pushed and pulled,
he gained his feet,
Only to be taken by defeat.
Courageously, we
stood by his side,
Praising all that
is left behind.
Moving as one, we
sang his song,
Daring to stand forever strong.
All too soon, we
toss aside,
Achievements that are brought to mind.
We care not for
the fight he has led,
Or the sacrifices left unsaid.
Unfair the way
we treat him thus.
Time is time we
treasure much.
Throwing him out
is just our way?
We will find someone
for another day.
Much of this, I
don’t understand.
Too much of this
is out of hand.
So much of this is
too much to take.
Time is time—
We must awake.
